Charles Edwin Allen, a compositor and printer, was active in progressive causes and labor unions and was author of a history of Dresden, Maine. Collection contains letters written to Allen by friends, business associates, political and labor figures and those interested in local history. Also contains correspondence, etc., from various labor organizations including the Knights of Labor.

Bennett was an instructor at Brown University from 1924-1931, then instructed at MIT from 1931-1934. He then came to the University of Maine as an Assistant Professor. In 1937 he became head of the Physics Department, a post he held until his retirement in 1970. The collection covers Bennett's career from his student days at Brown through his retirement from the University of Maine. Included are correspondence, articles, publications, manuscripts, teaching materials and student items.

They include correspondence, memos, reports, press releases, appointment calendars, speeches, voting records, photographs, and videos. These records document Cohen's legislative and committee-related work, the
attention and services he offered to his constituents, his public relations and press activities, and the administrative activities of his office in Washington D.C. and in the six district offices. The records also document Cohen's career from his decision to
run for Congress in 1972 through the announcement of his retirement from the Senate in 1996. Cohen's private papers, the bulk of which consist of the manuscripts for the nine books he has written, are also included.
