Historical/Biographical Information:

The Turner Family lived on Isle au Haut, Maine during the 19th Century.  The family of John Turner (1810-1887) and his wife, Lucretia Haskell Turner (1806-1894), included their five children, Elcy Susan, A. Joshua Haskell, Clarence Dean, John C., and Mary Abby, and their spouses and families.  Family members were involved in various occupations including, ironworking, photography, construction, and storekeeping.  Lucretia was active in the founding of the church on the Island.  The men served in various local government positions.  Isle au Haut is located 6 miles off the coast of Deer Isle-Stonington in mid-coast Maine.  Turners were among the first settlers and their descendents still reside on the island.
