Historical Note

Materials in the collection appear to have been saved primarily by Louise Elizabeth Dutton, a member o fthe Dutton family of Ellsworth, Maine.  Louise E. Dutton was the daughter of Annie Craig and George P. Dutton, and attorney in Ellsworth.  Annie was the daughter of Louisa S. Briggs and Reverend Wheelock Craig.  Louisa S. Briggs was the daughter of Dr. Cyrus Briggs of Augusta, Maine. 

Scope and Content Note

Records, letters, and photographs of an Ellsworth, Maine family with connections to the Wheelock, Craig, and Briggs families of Augusta. Also included are manuscript copies of the sermons of Wheelock Craig.
