- Reference Questions

- Staff are available to answer questions in person, by telephone, or via e-mail.
Center librarians are also available by
appointment for in-depth consultation.
- Instructional Workshops
-
- Librarians work with instructors to design effective classes in library
research methods. Depending on the need and subject area, these classes
can be designed to prepare students for a particular assignment or to
provide a general introduction to research in the sciences. Print
material, URSUS and electronic resources are standard topics. In addition,
classes are scheduled throughout the semester to train students and
faculty in database searching and locating Internet resources.
- Selecting Materials

- Librarians select materials according to their areas of expertise
but also rely on input from students, faculty, and staff. If you wish to
recommend a title for purchase stop by the Science Center, call us at
1-1691 or fill out the book selection
form.

- Database Searching

- The Science & Engineering Center has access to many online databases
in all fields of engineering, medicine and the natural and physical
sciences. Staff will show you how to use in-house resources or search
online databases.
