Collections Bibliography of Sources Related to Women's Studies, Gender Studies, Feminism, and Music is complied by the Committee on the Status of Women of the Society of Music Theory. Brass Music of Women Composers is a bibliographic database being compiled by Monique Buzzarte. When completed, it will contain over 2500 compositions. Canadian Women in Music is a listing of publications, compiled by Cheryl Gillard, National Library of Canada. Core Lists in Women's Studies: Music, created by Liza Vick, is sponsored by the American College & Research Libraries Women's Studies Section project. Women Hymn Composers before 1900, compiled by Donald McKillican, includes composers, titles of hymns, and bibliographic information. Welcome to the Club: the Women of Rockabilly is the PBS companion site to the documentary made by Beth Harrington. The site includes brief biographical information, a timeline, and links. Women at the Piano provides a list of concert pianists with biographical information, and links. Women in Jazz is a PBS site to accompany Ken Burns's Jazz series. It includes text and audio samples. Women of 1970's Punk, compiled by librarian Rina Gribovsky, provides background information on bands, a discography, and a bibliography. Contributions of Jewish Women to Music and Women to Jewish Music, created by Judith Pinnolis, includes information and links on composers and performers. Femina provides links to musicians, publications, and organizations, under the category "Entertainment/Performing Arts/Music". Feminist Majority Foundation>Music provides links to feminist performers and groups. Sophie's Daughters is a digital library of German women's music, including recordings, and texts. Women Composers, maintained on the Kapralova Soceity page, this site lists more than 200 composers born before 1951, with their dates and country of origin. Links are provided for many entries. Women of Note - A collection of links on a variety of women composers, compiled by Diana Ambache. WWWomen - Arts/Music provides links to performers and bands. Journals, Discussion Lists, & Zines Drummergirl provides resources for women drummers, including articles, interviews, and links. WomanRock.com is an ezine focusing on independent rock artists. Women of Note is a quarterly journal covering information and research on women composers. The site includes table of contents information, and an index from 1993-1998. Women-Related Lists in the Arts and Humanities, compiled by Joan Korenman, provides a comprehensive directory of discussion lists. Indiegrrl is "a forum for information, networking and conversation about independent music from a female perspective" that includes featured performers, information about performers, and links. International Alliance for Women in Music provides a comprehensive site that includes links to journals, bibliographies, discographies, syllabi, publishers and vendors, festivals, concerts, performers, and other organizations. Ladyslipper Music is a non-profit organization which publishes recordings of women's music. Their catalog can be searched by genre, artist, and title. Biographical information is included for some artists. Michigan Womyn's Music Festival organizes this annual event. The web site provides information about the festival, including workshops and performance schedules. Society for Music Theory Committee on the Status of Women "promotes gender equity and feminist scholarship in areas related to music theory". The site includes member and activity information, a bibliography, and links to other sites. Sweet Adelines International promotes women's barbershop troups by providing information and resources. Women in Music is a group of music industry professionals working to support, cultivate, and recognize women in the field. The site includes notices of events, a newsletter, and member web pages. Women in Music National Network is open to all women professionals in the music industry. This site includes a list of industry links, upcoming events, and information on employment opportunities. Women in the Arts, the sponsor of the first National Women's Music Festival. The site provides information about the festival and other events. Medeival Women and Music, an article by Cynthia J. Cyrus, a musicologist at Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University. WOW'EM - Women on the Web: Electronic Media, created by Kristine M. Burns, Dartmouth College, is designed for young women of high school or college age. The site includes many useful links and information on internships, schools, careers, hardware, and software.
