1. ANNOUNCEMENT
A. TELL US WHAT YOU THINK: COMPLETE THE LIBQUAL SURVEY
The Library is offering users the opportunity to participate in the online
LibQual survey from March 26 to April 15. This survey is an opportunity to tell
us, anonymously, what you think about the quality of our services, our
resources, and our physical facility, and how these could be improved. The
information you provide will help us to better to meet your needs.
To find out more:

To take the survey:

The survey was designed by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and Texas
A&M University Libraries with support from a three-year grant from the U.S.
Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education.
Approximately 250 sites and more than 100,000 respondents in the United States,
Canada, and other countries will take part in the 2007 LibQual survey, which
will enable us to compare our data to peer institutions. We also expect to use
the data we collected from the survey in our self-study for the upcoming NEASC
accreditation review.
The LibQual survey will help us to better understand how the University of Maine
community rates library services; it will allow us to benchmark results against
other libraries to determine best practices, and it will help us determine where
improvements are needed. By responding to the survey, you will provide essential
information for us to use in planning for the future.
The survey takes 10 - 15 minutes to complete. Your responses will be held in
confidence. No identifying links between responses and the individual responding
will be retained. Combined data only will be reported.
The Library is providing incentives for participation. Respondents can enter a
drawing for a prize by keying in their e-mail address at the end of the survey.
Prizes include 2 iPod Shuffles (donated by the Computer Connection), a
sweatshirt (donated by the Bookstore), and a variety of gift certificates.
