1. EVENTS
A. ¿TAPAS? ¡SI!
The Fun(draising) continues... Fogler Library is hosting Tapas Bar #2 with
Faculty chefs on Thursday, May 4, 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the University Club, second
floor, Fogler Library. Cost is $12 and includes all the tapas you can eat. A
cash bar will also be available. Please plan to stop by for a quick snack and a
chance to visit with friends and colleagues. This event is open to the entire
University community and the general public. Proceeds benefit Fogler Library.

2. DATABASES
A. HOMELAND SECURITY DIGITAL LIBRARY (HSDL) NOW AVAILABLE
Fogler Library has added to its list of Indexes and Databases
The Homeland
Security Digital Library (HSDL). It is considered the nation's premier
collection of homeland security policy, strategy and organizational documents.
The database, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Office of
Grants and Training and the Naval Postgraduate School's Center for Homeland
Defense and Security, is provided to homeland security officials, researchers,
scholars and students in an effort to further advance national research and
policy development. The collection of documents "supports local, state and
federal analysis and decision-making needs and assists academics of all
disciplines in homeland defense and security related research."
Major features include:
. Thousands of key, selected HS documents
. Full-text advanced search, hundreds of subject categories
. Direct links to important U.S. policy documents
. Online databases and journals
. Cutting edge NPS thesis and research reports
. Breaking news stories and newly released reports
Access to the site for the University of Maine System is granted via proxy and
IP authentication.
