A. RECOMMENDING A BOOK FOR PURCASE
Each year, Fogler Library purchases approximately 5,000 books on the recommendation of faculty, librarians, and other members of the University community. The library allocates part of its materials budget to subject areas which correspond to the University's academic departments, colleges and/or schools. These funds are intended to be used to acquire materials that fall outside our approval and profiled books plans. Faculty and staff are invited to submit requests for books that address curriculum and research-related needs.
Use our Book Recommendation Form (http://www.library.umaine.edu/colldev/recbook.htm), or mail or e-mail requests to the librarian assigned to your college or department <http://www.library.umaine.edu/colldev/contacts.htm>. For more information about how books and other materials are selected and acquired, see <http://www.library.umaine.edu/colldev/howmaterial.htm> .
B. MAINE'S SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESS RESEARCH LIBRARY
Fogler Library serves as a resource for meeting the science, technology and business information needs of citizens of the state. We provide a portal for information resources in these areas at <http://library.umaine.edu/scitechbus/ > The portal includes databases funded by the Maine State Legislature, plus links to additional resources.
