1. SERVICES
A. FOGLER ON THE MOVE
We spent the summer making changes and improvements to the Library, some of
them in response students' suggestions.
Popular Reading Area – A new Popular Reading area has been created at the south
end of the Reserve Reading Room. Our popular reading Baker and Taylor books,
Detective fiction collection (formerly shelved in the Oakes Room), and current
newspapers have been moved to the first range of shelves as you enter the room
from the Info Commons. There is a clipboard on the center shelf where you can
suggest books for purchase.
More seating and study tables have been added to the area on the second floor
vacated by the Media Resource Center. There are now 8 tables in this room. All
of the tables have adjacent electrical outlets.
Media Resource Center – The Media Resource Center has moved to the first floor
and merged with our Circulation department. This offers users a single service
point for checking out materials. A new office area for Circulation/Reserve
staff has been added at the north end of the Reserve Reading Room.
Learning Material Center – The Learning Materials Center is now the Learning
Materials Collection. Materials will remain in the same area and are open for
browsing and check out. However, there is no longer a service desk. For
reference assistance, contact the Reference Desk at (581-1673). For other
general questions, contact the Circulation dept (581-1666)
Periodicals – Social Science and Humanities current print periodicals shelved
in the Reserve Reading Room on the first floor have moved to the President’s
Room on the second floor and merged with the Science and Engineering
periodicals. All the journals are shelved in a single alphabetical order.
