1. EVENTS
A. FOGLER LIBRARY CELEBRATES THE UNIVERSITY OF MAINE YEARBOOKS ONLINE, APRIL 17
   For the past eighteen months, Fogler Library staff members have been engaged in digitizing the full run of the Prism yearbook and completed the final of 107 volumes in early March. The Yearbooks Online, which run from 1895 through 1997, are available to browse page by page from the Library’s web site. The online address is:
http://www.library.umaine.edu/yearbooks
   To celebrate the completion of the project, we would like to invite members of the University Community to an afternoon event to be held April 17 from 3-4 pm at the University Club. A brief presentation of the project and the resulting resource will lead off the occasion followed by an opportunity for attendees to explore the site on individual wireless laptops with assistance from project team staff. Selected physical copies housed in our Special Collections will also be on display.
   This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.   We encourage you to stop by and take the premier tour with us.

2.  DATABASES
A. URSUS USER INTERFACE UPGRADE APRIL 10
   The software vendor for our online catalog URSUS will install their latest update to the user interface "WebPac Pro" on Thursday, April 10. There should be no downtime for URSUS users.
   The look and feel of the existing URSUS interface will still be present after the upgrade, but WebPac pro will give us some new features, including improved relevance ranking for search results. The most significant difference that users will notice after the upgrade is the use of the brief citation display in search results lists. This feature shows more information about items in the results list than the current view. We will also have the option of increasing the number of results that display on the results page.

B. SCIENCEDIRECT AND SCOPUS SYTEM BRIEF DOWNTIME APRIL 11
   Science Direct advised that their system will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes during the period 22:00 to 23:00 EDT on Friday, April 11, due to scheduled maintenance work.
