Serials Collection Review 2005 |
For Fiscal Year 2006, beginning July 1, 2005, Fogler Library's anticipated annual serials expenditures are $3,335,000. Fogler Library's estimated serials budget for FY06 will cover these expenses, IF the University of Maine adds funding as outlined in its FY06 E&G Budget Prep. This document calls for an additional $350,000 for library acquisitions to cover inflation, and $50,000 for new acquisitions, which will likely need to be one-time purchases rather than subscriptions. As of August 10, 2005, the Library had not yet received verification that these amounts had been added to the budget. The final serials renewal lists must be sent to the Library's vendors by September 9.

The Library is maintaining a watch list of serial titles for which changes are recommended in FY06. Please review the watch list and send feedback to Kathleen Brown.
Please send suggestions for title changes (additions, cuts, and replacements) or format changes (print, online) to Kathleen Brown or use the form. Please note whether a new journal should replace an existing one. Requests for new subscriptions will be added to the request list (Excel File) in case additional funds become available.
