Denis Bergeron
is the director of the Energy Programs Division at the Maine Public
Utilities Commission. Mr. Bergeron has worked for the Maine Public
Utilities Commission for over 15 years on energy issues related to
both the electric and gas utility industries. Electric energy
industry policy issues he has been directly involved in include
planning for industry restructuring, renewable energy portfolio
requirements, integrated resource planning, and efficiency programs.
For five years during the rewrite of New England’s wholesale
electricity market rules and the creation of ISO New England, Mr.
Bergeron served as the chair of the New England Conference of Public
Utilities Commissioners’ Energy Policy Group.
In his current role at Maine PUC, he directs the
Efficiency Maine program as well as the federally funded State
Energy Program. Before joining the Maine PUC, he worked for the
State of Utah Energy Office.
Mr. Bergeron has a
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah and a
B.S. in Park and Recreation Management and an A.S. in Resource and
Business Management, both from the University of Maine. He is a
registered professional engineer in the state of Maine. |
