Searching Fogler's Newspaper Subscriptions

Newspapers are excellent resources for finding articles on disasters, their causes and their consequences. Although not considered "scholarly," they do provide a record of who, what, when, where and why - details you can use for your assignments. Do not expect to find many technical details in newspapers, though. Newspapers are also good for finding information on historic events, much of which can not be found online or in subscription databases. Lucky for us, Fogler provides online access to some great historical newspaper archives!

How to find:
From library homepage, click:
Indexes & Databases tab --> N --> (multiple options, see examples)

Example one - NewspaperArchive
Search for "St. Francis Dam", with quotes.

Example two - Newspapers (Proquest), subject scoping

After Date - 07/10/2006.
Subject scoping - from Suggested Topics box, click:

Example three - New York Times Historical Archive
