• Use URSUS to find library resources
• Use online periodical databases to find articles
• Use appropriate subject headings for your topic. For example:

Topic = Gender communication
Subject heading in URSUS = Communication--Sex differences

Topic = Health communication
Subject heading in URSUS = Communication in medicine

• Communication Abstracts
• Academic Search Premier
• JSTOR
• Project Muse
• MLA International Bibliography

Use URSUS to locate books and journals in the library. You may also request books and articles from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan

Writing your paper

Use the APA writing guides available at http://library.umaine.edu/virtualref/citations.htm. Copies of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association are available at the Reference Desk in Fogler Library.
