Fogler Library

Description of the Canadian Collection

Fogler Library has a nationally recognized Canadian Studies collection consisting of 31,000+ monographs, 200+ Canadian journal titles, and 43 Canadian newspapers as well as large collections of maps, Canadian census materials, and Canadian federal and provincial documents.  Canadian materials are shelved with the regular library collections of books, periodicals, documents, and microforms, and nearly all titles are cataloged in URSUS. The Canadian Studies Librarian also maintains and updates a Subject Guide to Canadian Web Sites.

In addition, Fogler Library owns the three components of the microfilm collection Early Canadiana that cover monographs, periodicals, and annuals published in Canada or about Canada before 1901.  The library has also purchased over half of another component of Early Canadiana, entitled Canadian Monographs 1900-1920, and is committed to acquiring all of collection in the next several years.
